Hello All, I am parting from my (OFF FRAME RESTORED) 1980 FJ40. This FJ40 has been in my Family since it was purchased new in ECUADOR. I was posted to Ecuador, for work, in 2007 and decided to bring the vehicle back with me. Since new, vehicle was only used during visits to the country. Vehicle has about 50,000 ORIGINAL miles. This vehicle has been parked for a long time. It was recently restored by professionals when I was assigned to Ecuador in 2007. I restored it back to original using parts from CoolCruisers.com. Quito, Ecuador is at 9500 feel above sea level so it was virtually rust free (pre-restoration). Car has no BONDO. Car was stripped to bare metal before it was repainted. I just took the vehicle out of storage, so I can register it in MD and sell it, before I move overseas again, for work. It makes no sense to pay storage fees and insurance for the next 4 years.

I have before and after pictures, invoice of the parts ordered from coolcruisers.com, invoice from SHOP that restored vehicle, professionally done.

I am asking $35,000 (obo).

Here is a quick list of items done:
Car Stripped to bare metal to identify corrosion.
Engine rebuilt using Coolcruisers.com parts
Sandblasted chassis
Chassis treated and coated with anti corrosive
Undercoat Rhyno coated
New upholstry inside, including ROLL BAR
New metallic pain from TOYOTA late models Silver
Original Rims stripped and re-painted to match Body trim (toyota colors)
New Electrical Harness
New Dolphin instrument clusters
Rebuilit Disk breaks in front and drumbs in back, all pads were replaces
New break lines, gas lines
All new hoses
All filters were replaced
Carburator was rebuilt using Kit from coolcruisers.com parts
Power steering rebuilt using kit from coolcruisers.com parts
All weatherstipping was replaced
New full exhaust system
New anti-rust bolts for the whole, door hinges, and other hardware.
New Sit belts
Car is fully carpted and can be removed using snap system

None taken, and thanks for the feedback.

There are other things not listed above that justify the price. I could put a full suspension for 1200 bucks from coolcruiser.. but I am trying to sell it before I depart the country. No point in investing more money in the car. The price is negotiable. Bottom line is, I have all documentation for all the work that was done and receipts of all parts procured. Just the BTS cluster cost over 1100 USD.

I have the import paperwork when the vehicle entered the US a few weeks ago, after it was in storage for a about a year + in Ecuador.

If I drop the price too low.. people haggle you even lower. I am just trying to break even. I restored this car for my personal use. I am only selling the car because I am getting deployed overseas for 4 years, otherwise, I would keep the car.

Again, thanks for the feedback. Take care.

I apreciate all your honest feedback. The car belong to my grandfather in Ecuador. It has <50k Original miles. I imported this car here after I was deploy to ecuador. This car has been in storage to about a year or so. Only non-own parts are the steering wheel and cluster. I made the mistake of replacing the orinal cluster, but I still have the original. This car was imported tto the USA under my gov't orders. I have all documentation to prove it. I realize 35k may be too high... But if someone is really interested contact me. 1980 with all original eqpt and all documentation of ownership and low miles is hard to find. I restored this car using the best paint metallic I could find, and took all the extra steps to ensure a quality restore.

I appreciate all your comments and for keeping folks honest in here. :)
