Here is the story...this 40 was behind a school a mile from my house. The owner contact me through the Rising Sun forum. He had moved away and left the 40 there temporarily, and the school was going to tow the truck away. I ran over there and with some great help from Jeff Zepp, we got the truck running and over to my house. The owner, Stan Michael, wants to sell the truck for as much money as possible to donate all funds to a charity he created when his Mom passed away earlier this year called Helga's Hope, to raise awareness for cervical cancer. This is actually a pretty complete and running/driving truck, I just don't have the time to get it running and more complete and sell it, so we decided that parting it out is probably a better idea. I DON'T WANT TO LOSE THIS TRUCK TO THE JUNKYARD! It is complete but no doors or top, the tub has some holes, but everything else is actually in great shape.

I have a post on MUD to part this out, but I have had some interest in selling it whole, which I would prefer to do for many reasons. Price is $2000 firm and has to be sold soon before I start tearing it down to part out. Before you lowball me tooooo bad remember the $$ goes to charity and I am doing this all for free! :D

GOOD:
2f runs and drives. had not been started in a year or 2 so is a little rough, but runs and drives around the neighborhood.
4 speed tranny and tcase
good shape from firewall forward
WARN premium hubs

BAD;
tub has holes and some students from the school where he worked did some patching
no top or doors
has a coolant leak, have not been able to track it down
battery is not great, was just an old spare of mine

If you are looking for a project, or have a tub, or just want to build a crawler, this is a great start. Valid Colorado title.

Please contact me ASAP. I will be out of town then next 2 days but will be checking PM's and emails.

Bump for a very good buy....and the $$ is going to a great cause!

This is a great buy for a starter truck....just a few things, and this baby's on the trail!

Was great meeting ya Timm!!

Best regards and good luck with the sale!

thanks guys, think it might be sold and staying in Colorado. :) Great meeting you too, Jeff!

Hey I will be de-smogging the 2f in my 73 40, I will see if I have what you need.

Thanks all!!

deal fell through. sigh. who wants to buy this and go wheel it next week? :)

seriously considering parting it out...but only if I can sell the big ticket items like the 2f, 4 speed tranny and tcase (would this be a split case?), hood, doors, fenders, etc. I want to maximize the amount that goes to Stan's charity, but also minimize all the work I would have to do to part it out. :)

I would like the wheels (can provide rollers), FR fender, tail lights and poss. the tranny and t-case if in good shape, and lots of misc. other small parts and I can help pull:meh: you know my # T.

Thanks JC, sent you a PM.

Yup Ige, guess parting them out is better right now. Just hate to see cruisers off the street...but if it means more cruisers will live on, I guess I am ok with that.

hope to make a decision soon...I have all the PM's...I just really really want to save this from being parted! I do have tons of other 40 parts so I can accommodate most of the parts requests I have received. :)

OK, the truck is officially being parted out. The engine, tranny, tcase, frame, axles, are all sold. The rest is up for grabs. I am going through my PM's and emails now, let me know what you are interested in if you have not sent me a PM or email. (timmbuck2@yahoo.com) Locals and large lists of items get top priority. Will start pulling parts this weekend. Thanks!
