1977 - Land Cruiser - FJ40 SOLD
I bought the truck in February 2006 and have used it mainly to haul my fishing kayaks. Previous owner built the truck for wheeling but that was not my interest so I know very little about how the truck would preform under those conditions. I do know it has served my purposes very well and has been very dependable. Previous owner went through and rebuilt just about everything and put on numerous new parts. The truck had 58620 miles on the odometer when I bought it in February of 2006, right now it has 63900+/-, so I've put on approximately 5280 miles.
Below is the information he gave me when I purchased it. He did most all this work in 2001.
This Cruiser is freeborn red. The body of the truck and tub was completely during the rebuild. Some rust spot on body panels. There are some wheeling dings but, overall the body is in OK shape. The interior is in good shape, with the smooth gray bedliner and factory seats with gray seat covers. The truck runs great and is very solid to drive. It performs excellent off-road and is comfortable to drive on the road.
New tub from an Arizona truck was installed on the truck.
The frame was cleaned and painted.
The transmission, transfer case, and front and rear differentials were professionally rebuilt with new bearings and seals.
The front axle was completely rebuilt.
2F engine - Replaced with another Cruiser engine by the previous owner after the the original engine would not fully engaging the distributor (which drives the oil pump).
Replacement engine has been de-smogged and approximately 83k miles on it.
HEI Distributor non-US vacuum advance distributor.
Custom 2.5" exhaust.
Pertronix electronic ignition and new starter
New clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, pilot bearing, and resurfaced flywheel.
