Updated post … I just completed the shackle lift , new proper bilstein shocks for 2-4” lift , new rear brakes with oem drums , new parking brake kit . Ready to drive and enjoy .

Selling this 1976 FJ40 to fund my FJ55 build . I bought this truck over two years ago out of Las Cruces NM from a older gentlemen who was originally from So Cal . He purchased it from someone in 2007 up in Northern California. That owner had bought it from a 82 year old man out of AZ . The man from AZ is the one that had the truck painted and was most likely the 1st or 2nd owner . When I bought it the truck had some 16x8” alloy rims on it , a badly leaking header , a rockchester carb . It ran great and pulled excellent however . There is no cancer rust anywhere on this rig . Floors , quarters and rockers are all solid top and bottom .

Recent Weber Carb conversion with a machined intake and stock exhaust manifold .
Professionally TiG welded stainless steel manifold back exhaust system (sounds awesome) no rattles or rubbing etc .
Recent DUI distributor
Radiator was cleaned and tested
New hoses and clamps on cooling system
ARB lockers
ArB compressor
Mini truck power steering conversion
CB
Tuffy locking box
WARN 8278 winch dated 1976 . Works perfect.
5 Newer KM3 33”X15x10.5’s 2k miles on them .
5 New OEM stock rims powder coated at the same time .
She ain’t perfect, but it has never once left me stranded . I’ve taken it on several back country trips on the NMBDR that lasted days and we’re up to 800 miles at a time . Shifts , drives , stops good . Could use a few things to make better , the springs are from some old lift kit and hit the shackles at times . Needs a proper set of springs . Paint is chipping around windshield and cowling. Has surface rust at that location . (see pics ) . The paint job is probably 20 years old already . Scuffs and pin stripes from use and cracking from age . All the spot welds are visible above the wheel arches etc . She ain’t a bondo bucket ! Dry as they come without a complete restore and panel replacements .

Asking $32k , possible trades for a Tacoma crew cab 4x4 . KTM , BMW etc adventure bikes or enduros . FJ45 also , but I’m sure that is a stretch .

Thanks for looking
