'71 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 (jeep style) w/5-Speed + V8: $9,000 obo
This vehicle was converted to have a 5 speed transmission and chevy V8 motor.
This vehicle is currently my daily driver but could use some work with the steering, brakes & a few other things. I only do highway driving these days and need something more practical.
The following was replaced a few years ago (with less than ~15,000 miles):
complete rebuild on chevy 350 motor,
5 speed Toyota H55F transmission (w/ granny low 1st gear & 5th gear overdrive),
weber fuel efficient carburetor,
k&n air filter (lifetime warranty),
optima battery (yellow top),
brake master cylinder,
clutch, master & slave cylinder,
distributor,
140amp heavy duty alternator,
wiring harness & switches (w/ vintage knobs),
parking brake assembly & cable.
husky center console with drink holders, map tray and stereo compartment,
dynamat soundproofing on firewall,
rubberized asphalt soundproofing on floor and tub,
manual steering (new power steering kit contains worn steering linkages),
ergonomic tan cloth volvo seats, heated if you want to wire them up,
disc brake conversion in front, drums in back,
31" BFG tires -All Terrain, (i do have a spare despite the photos)
suspension has shackle reversal and bigger shackles so bigger tires will definitely fit, i used to have 33"s.
tub rebuilt like a tank with larger rear wheel well cutouts and slightly raised heavy duty rocker panels,
Removable Hardtop (leaks a bit and the fiberglass roof part could use replacing)
