Not skilled lol An my budget is 10k at the moment. Just gotta find a reputable place near Asheville NC

What about some under chassis pics? Is the rot in just that place in 1st pic? Or much more? What are you going to use it for and what level of restore?

Just that 1 spot is bad rest is surface rust. I have another FJ40 that I have spent a ton on. Bought probably 12k of stuff from Rick at btb. But the body is ruff. Really ruff. Im driving it. Plan is fix the blue ones body an then swap

Also the one im driving rear tube is cut to make room for the 37s
If you are not skilled, I would take the tub off and take it to a body place and see what they can do.

Yeah that was my idea I just traded for this blue one today. Wanted to get some opinions on how bad that rust was. I can do most mechanical stuff but my patience is none existent for doing good body work
That’s fixable. Find a good metal guy.

Sand blast that area to see what if any Swiss cheese exists in that area

Ok what media would you recommend? Haven't done much blasting but I have one
Dry Home Depot play sand or pecan shells type works well. Good resipirator is a must!

That will sandblast well. The dash is homebrew of some sort. Wonder what’s going on there!

Not sure its definitely coming out. Looks like the rear tub is cut on this blue one aswell
