Welded up all the tonneau cover holes on the bed rails and tailgate last night. Also found 3 of the 4 rails weren't welded to the stakes anymore so I welded those. I'll probably find another couple spots to weld up before I can move on.

Ordered up the Belltech 688sp 5/6" drop kit. That is all.

So what’s the secret on the “patina”

Brushing on flakes? Rust color paint on the bush and dabbing it?
I guess my how to videos werent too detailed eh? Coffee grounds man, lol

Paint the panel whatever color, then hit the spots you want patina'd with red oxide primer. I used rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle (you can use water too but it won't dry as fast) to wet the primed area then sprinkled/threw a mix of coffee grounds, salt, pepper and cinnamon at/on it. Wetting the spots down makes the grounds stick to vertical surfaces. Wait till that's dry then spray over it with the original color you chose. When that's dry brush off the grounds and give it a scrub with a scotchbrite pad and soapy water.

Hell yeah.

Started messing with the tailgate yesterday, got it primed, and then laid out a few stripes. Taping off the Chevy script was so fun, lol. Got it patina'd and painted before work today.
