1966 FJ40 - Corpus Christi, TX - SOLD

SOLD :frown:

:frown::frown::frown:

Sadly I'm selling the 40 I haven't even had for a year. Since buying I have completely redone the brakes. Brand new wheel cylinders, master cylinder, extended length soft lines, drum shoes, and hard lines (where needed). Rebuilt the parking brake.
Looking for $5500, or Trade + Cash ( Interested in Land Rover, 4Runner, Land Cruisers, Troopers, not really looking for a domestic. Something 4x4 with 4 doors) Also can't do a straight up trade as I need a bit of cash. Sudden life changes are forcing this sale, I really don't want to sell her, but this is best for my family.

How she sits:
The good:
- 327 SBC w/ headers & Cherry bomb mufflers
- SM420 Tranny
- ORION Transfer Case w/ 4:1 low gear
- 4.11 gears in the axels
- Lock-Rite Auto Locker in the rear diff
- 4" Skyjacker lift w/ Nitro Shocks & SOR 1.5" Performance Shackles
- Comes w/ 4degree castor shims and longer center pins (need to be installed)
- 4 core radiator
- Centerforce Clutch
- Brand New 33" Hankook Dynapro MTs (33x12.5x15) less than 600mi (comes w/ free replacment and repair insurance from discount tire)
- Rebuilt parking brake less than 200mi, holds great
- Brand new brake system, stops straight and fast
- Yellow Top Optima battery
- New MSD HEI Streetfire Distributer and 8.5mm Wires
- Just passed TX inspection on 5/24/2010
- Comes with extras
- Bikini top
- soft doors
- Aussie grill and brush guard (not installed) w/ custom hi-lift jack mount

The not so good
- - Rust is present on the outside/bottom of the driver's door and the rear sill (just below the tailgate)
- Hood dented
- Paint looks great from a few feet away, but up close could be better ( just like most paintjobs....)
- windshield has a spider-web crack on pass. side lower corner w/ a single branch that goes to the top.
- has aftermarket gauges for the vitals (engine temp and oil pressure) original gauges are still in the truck, they may or may not work if hooked up properly, I just haven't tried it.
- Needs to have the drivers side door glass installed. I have the window, just needs channel and weather seal thing. (has new door felt, regulator and wing glass already installed.)
- Could also use a new window wiper assembly for passenger side, not really needed but just something it could use.

If I think of anythig else, I will post it up.

I will also be adding more photos tomorrow (engine, interior, under body, drive train). Anything requested will be posted as well.

PM for more info.

Nice rig

Sad to see you let it go, Will, but I know it's for the best.

I was the previous owner of this 40, and I daily drove it for about 1.5 years; my father owned it from 1996 to 2006, within which we lifted it, installed the Orion, SM420 trans (trans was rebuilt after it was purchased) and installed the Lock Right. The engine had always been reliable, even with the regular distributor, and never gave us any problems. I installed the new radiator in 2008 when I noticed the original radiator was beginning to leak at the top tank.

The truck always did well on-and-off road, tracks straight and was always my go-to vehicle when my other vehicles would fail me.
