Sounds like everyones vote is for a spotlight in the museum, needless to say, I agree. Keep that baby out of harms way, lmao.

I'll catch hell for this, but a 45 ain't a great thing to drive...too little inside, at least for me. I'd drive and enjoy it, we don't need any museum crap around here. Doesn't mean you have to wheel it to death, but no reason not to do some two track with it.

Nice rig. My favorite year and model Land Cruiser! Just enjoy the rig. I know that I'm a purist, but my feeling is to keep it "Toyota"...whether you go 2F, (13-BT diesel!!!!),or whatever you decide...

WIsh I'd have never sold mine...makes me want another...sell my '78 FJ40 in a heartbeat!

Enjoy.

That thang is fine. Make it a classic grocery getter and go out and buy you some junk for the rocks.
Nice ride.

I have a swb and a lwb 45, and use them very differently. One is a show piece, the other an expedition rig.

There is a LOT of room between 'car show' and 'rockpile.' You can have a LOT of fun in a 45 without going hardcore. I wheel the piss out of my lwb, and occasionally dent it as well. It will handle 90% of the wheeling I want to do with a stock motor and a standard 4 speed trans and a set of 32" tires. I have a built FJ40 for the other 10%.

You could build a twin case formula toy for less than it would take to make a 45 into a capable rock rig anyways.;p

Also, FWIW, texican on this board is building up a fixed top 45 right now. 2F and a 4 speed, while retaining a basically stock look. Might look for his imput on this as well.

Best
