im thinking of picking up a set of 15x8 steelies with 4.75" backspacing. how will this affect me? Im on 31x10.5. I plan to do a ball joint spacer mod (with low profile bumpstop) in the near future but will most likely have my torsion bar relaxed as im interested in articulation more than lift. Will i have rubbing issues?

I can try them on but they will be without any mounted wheels so i may get home, mount wheels, and realize its no good. And there is the future ball joint spacer to keep in mind as well.

Thanks.

4.75 backspacing is going to move the tire into the wheel well more... If it clears the brake parts ok you should be fine though... I don't think you'll have rubbing issues with 31's... But again, 4.75 will move the tire into the fender-well more...

its the Unique wheel # 297-5860P

a quick google search will show some application charts that include 4runners from 86-95 so im sure it will fit regarding the brake parts.

my concern lies with the ball join spacer and how close the tires come to rubbing after that. but if i remember correctly i think ball joins spacer mod gives you more room... no?

Less room.

BJ spacers give you a smidge more droop. More droop is the tire getting closer to the upper control arm.

I don't think I'd head for more backspacing, I'd stick to stock for less fender rubbing with larger tires, or less backspacing to clear wider tires with BJ spacers.

yea, makes sense. thanks for the comments. ill look for the 4" with that brand instead as they dont make 15x8 with 3.75". im gonna guess .25" will be tolerable.

the wheels are made by Cragar it seems.
