Hi everyone, I have a dead/flat spot when accelerating at approx 2800 rpm or just after the turbo kicks in , the fuel pump is working fine , any ideas on what may be the problem?

A couple of questions:

is this a swapped 13BT? As far as I know they never came in a BJ73?

2800 rpms is way high and late for the turbo to kick in, did you mean 1800 or are you meaning just after boost at any point, or after 2800?

the ct26 for the 13BT is laggy, but should come up fairly quick after initial call for boost.

miles on engine?
Last time injectors done?
Last time injector pump serviced?

Can you rev, in neutral to 4100rpms? It's a test in the factory manual to check the pump.

EDIT: Here is a video of what I'd call normal acceleration on my 13BT, 5spd. Sorry for quality, hard to drive/film. In the lower left you can see my EGT/Boost gauge. I didn't really go above 2800, but I can if you want to see that, it doesn't flat spot.

My boost is set to max around 11psi, fuel is slightly turned up 3/4 of a turn from stock. Rebuilt engine, turbo, Injection pump and injectors, approx 5,000 miles. My 0-60 before I turned up the fuel was 16.8 per an app

Thanks for the reply

Yeah it’s a swapped engine so unsure of the kms on it. 2800 is a full guess because my rev gauge is faulty so disregard that , the flat spot seems to happen shortly after boost kicks in and injectors and pump haven’t been done since I have had the truck. I will post a video of a normal acceleration but push into that flat spot in 3rd gear and see what you think.

Interesting observation is that the flat spot is barely there when the engine is cold, seems to have no trouble getting the revs up.
