Any recommendations? I'd like 1) to be water resistent for the bed of my Dodge and 2) be easy to install.

What are you going to run off of it?

If it is a light duty power draw you could use a round 12v trailer plug with a snap over cap hard wired to your battery. You would have to modify the wire end of the appliance that you would plug into it. It is about as weather resistant as you can get.

Or are you looking for the cigarette lighter type plug in device?

Yes, I'm thinking of the cig lighter plug for charging cell phones, running DVD players, fridge/freezer possibly.

Might check out your local motorcycle shop. Most bikes have a weatherproof version.

This power source outlet is rated to 12 volts 15 amps and can also be mounted to any suitable flat surface. It features a hinging weather resistant dust cover, mounting hardware, wire, fuse, fuse holder, terminals and connectors required for standard installation. Cigarette lighter type plug. $18.88

Can order from Mud sponsors Toyota Off-Road Outfitters

I know DigiKey has one that has a good cover. not waterproof, but close. Digi-Key part # AS212-ND. I've used it for a few projects.

I have a power block for the back of my pickup. It is fused at the battery for 30 Amps. It has two power lines, one is hard wired to the battery, the other is switched with a relay tied to the ignition. Each of the 4 outlets has a switch to select either direct wired to the battery or ignition switched as the power source. They also have individual 15A circuit breakers for each outlet.
