Bring the women and children, there is something for everyone. Planned activities include a scenic tour of Mason County roads, Antique and unique shopping excursion in Fredricksburg, kids raffle...and as always bands and rocks, Texas Style!

Rock Crawling from mild to wild and expo trails for days.

PM me with questions.

Aw heck I recon I'll come on out.

It is a 3 hour plane ride Ross, and 2 of them are over Texas. :-)

Lone Star flew me into San Antonio I believe... what a great time I had thanks to the great folks in TX.

I sure hope you Lone Star folks journey out to Rubithon this year!

So, 3 hours fly time, plus 3 hours drive time to Mason from either Austin or San Antonio? + rental car? (probably could shame one of these guys into picking me up)

vs

21 hours drive time from Vallejo -- (1660 miles) - 220 gallons minimum to drive the FJ... or trailer the 40.... hmmmm...

decisions, decisions.

If your interested, maybe we can split it. Want a rider if you drive. I'll split the fuel and food

Ross- let me know, I've done this trip many times.

Last year, was from San Antonio to mason; great drive.
Gotta hit Rudys BBQ while in San Antonio.
Then drive up to mason easy going, tourist stop in Fredricksburg on way to Mason.

vs. driving out.....

:bounce2:Priceless:bounce:, great wheeling- bring the 40

Depending on if I can get a couple of other California guys to come out, I'll either drive or fly..

about the same distance for me, unless I stay north to avoid all the border checkpoints on the way. 332 gallons of diesel to tow something out, or something around 230-240 to drive something and hope I don't break it (yeah right).

:hhmm:

I would be willing to carpool with you. Figure 24 hours of driving so we could trade off time behind the wheel.

Depending on if I can get a couple of other California guys to come out, I'll either drive or fly.. If I fly, what's the best airport to fly into (maybe only?)

Austin is the closest major airport and best rates. If you fly thru DFW, post up on Lone Star and we will get you down there. I have room for 6 passengers, but I will be leaving Dallas on the morning of the 13th.

The latest update on events:

We have a full schedule of activities for everyone, whether you want to just get your tires dirty or challenge some serious rock crawling.

We will have the Mason County road tour, approx 60 mile loop thru the scenic hill country with low water crossings, dirt roads and nothing to cause body damage.
Also, new this year will be a geocaching run...bring your own GPS, again for all vehicles.

Friday we have a pot luck dinner, raffle, kids raffle and the band "Two Tons of Steel"

Saturday night is the BBQ dinner followed by Matt Stell and the Crashers

And the event shirt will be different too....Mechanics shirts for all the drivers!!

Any questions, please feel free to email or give me a call!

Thanks,

I'll be there with the 200 Series- will leave the 40 at home- she's too pretty. I have a feeling my Slee Sliders will loose some paint. Hope to leave with my rear bumper in tact. My buddy is also coming this year bringing the sweetest 80 you have ever seen!
