When I first got my LX back in 2022 I had 1 kid. We now have 3, all 3 in car seats. 1 infant seat and 2 can be forward facing convertible seats. LATCH didn't existing in 1999. And apparently neither did tethers. At the time with 1 kid, I installed the car seat with the seat belt, and then the tether to the hook in the floor for the 3rd row jump seat. Jump seats folded up obviously. Now the oldest likes to ride in the way back, so I'll be using 1 of the 3rd row jump seats.

I have another daily driver now, but still want to be able to put the car seats in the LX for lake/boat days, trips up to the mountains, etc. Anyone researched and figured out the best way to install modern car seats in an older 100 with no tether attachment points?

When I was a kid I rode rear facing, sitting on top of the console in dad's F-150. But my wife isn't going to go for that 🤣

Yeah, the seatbelt install isn’t the issues. It’s the question of what to hook the tether to

I'm using the cargo anchor for mine, '01. Not sure if the anchors were standard or if it was added later in the production run. Having the one seat back there with the second row single seat folded up was a game changer. We have a rear facing seat in the middle of the second row, which leaves room for 3 passengers easily. Amazing how practical the interiors of these things are for the age and not gigantic footprint.

Nice. Pretty sure I have those cargo hooks also. Will check tomorrow. I guess I could do oldest in the back like that same side, middle behind the driver with her tether to the jump seat hook. No tether needed on the infant seat. We try to leave 1 second row seat open for us to get back if needed. That’s how we have her Defender 130 setup, and the oldest sometimes just loads up through the back

Yeah, we use the rear passenger seat like a jump seat now, more or less. I can see how 3 complicates things, modern car seats are an absolute bear.
