QUESTION: How does one order these pads? Last time I told the parts guy I wanted "100 Series pads" he was clueless and went onto say no one uses the description "80 or 100 series" anything in his experience. This at a Toyota dealership! Maybe by year is better?

If you want Toyota pads, call C-Dan, he will fix you up.

Another data point

Rotated my tires today, so I decided to measure the wear on my pads as well.

New [100 series] pads have about 11mm of friction material.

I put on a set of 100 series pads on a pair of new OEM rotors - not turned in the aftermarket before install - and at approx 8300 mi, all four pads pads still have 10.5mm remaining... and the rotors are as smooth as a baby's a$$.

Couldn't ask for better wear. :)

Cheers, R -

OEM Tundra/Sequoia will fit the 80 calipers with mods just like the OEM 100 series pads. I'm running on my second set of Tundra pads.

still wondering why it's supposedly necessary to turn the rotors before putting the 100 pads in there...
Yes, there is a small unworn ridge at the edge of the rotor, but so what? Either the ridge or the edge of the pad will wear out quickly.

Any new info on this?

When I 1st converted over to 100 series pads i bought NAPA Safety Stop pads """ NOW WITH CERAMIC FORMULATION"""

They were worse than the worn out pads I took off. Gave them a couple of months to break in and nothing. Even tried the "hard braking" method of burning them in. Finally bought OEM pads and turned the rotors. Big difference. Gonna be throwing in a FF rear axle I'm buying from Generic80 soon. Hoping for even more stopping power.

Damn that's great wear. Probably another 30k on present rotors. When I change those out probably at about 180K (155K now), I'll switch to 100 series. I still average about 15K on 80 series pads.

I may just use some old 100 pads I have around and try those out on the unturned rotors to see what happens... (Will go very slow but I'll still have the rears to stop the vehicle in any case)
