100 for sale in calssifieds--opinions?

There is a 2000 LC with various mods done to it for sale in CO. I am looking for one in this price range. My dilemma is that I want something I can use as a DD for now with the hope of modding later. This one has an OME Medium lift with 295 Nitto Terra Grapplers on it.

How is this truck gonna be on the highway? I typically put about 20K miles a year on my cars. With the lift and larger tires, is this not one I would want? Is the MPG gonna drop even more with these mods? Thanks in advance for all your opinions. I am itching to buy one but want to hopefully, make a smart decision for the long run.

wngrog is the only one on this board that has owned one pre and post lift and tires. I have larger bfg's on my wife's
'03 and love them. I think you would be fine.

295's are not that big. They make a difference and put your truck in a lower RPM range. This makes the truck hunt a bit more between drive and overdrive at times, but for the most part that size tire makes it not happen that much.

Jess can tell you a 2000 is due for a shock/suspension upgrade. These trucks are heavy and new OEM shocks and a bit stiffer spring is not a bad thing.

I like the look and would probably do it again if I were to get a 100 series.

Thanks for the input. I have been looking for a 00-01 and this one fits my range for the most part. It appears the "Pint" has taken very good care of the LC. He is asking 16K as is. I thought it was still a little high considering it has 140K miles and the seats are worn. It does have 5K worth of mods though. Any thoughts?

I went and looked at it and that is actauly pretty low miles for that year. I like the fact that he has had it since 50K. I like the mods. It seems like a good truck to me.

If the mods are the same ones that you would have done then they may add about 50% of the price of the mods to the truck.

If it's just a bunch of stuff that you don't really need or want then they add no value and even detract if you need to remove them.

Well I would probably go for the larger tires, the front bumper, and the sliders. The part I am hesitant about is the lift. Not sure I would do that for myself. On the other hand, if the stock springs need to be replaced on a 2000 anyway, then there really isn't a reason not to go with the lift.

Will a 2.5 lift handle much different on the road than a stock one? If I get this one, I would say that it would be 90/10 highway/offroad. Don't know if that is enough to justify getting all these mods already on this LC.

That is a sweet truck and well taken care of. Knowing that a LC guy has owned the truck almost 100k miles and just read some of his posts he is anal.

The lift will not effect the driving in a negative way it probably handles better do to a better suspension setup.

I would pay the 16k and never look back.
