Hi all, new to this page forum but have been reading on here for some time. Looking for the best option for a 1/2 - 1 inch front lift on a GX460 that will work with the stock suspension. I want to keep a slight rake but a little less than factory....and also not totally level. Is this possible without sacrificing ride quality? Not sure I want to jump right to a new suspension quite yet. Wondering if something like a preload collar from Wescott Designs might work? Just not sure if I am missing something.....looking for something simple to lift the front a bit with the stock suspension and also not affect ride quality to much....I realize there is always a take and give.
I have been researching the same and also wondering what solutions are available. Most of the solutions on here say to replace the airbag system with coils and a lifted shocks There are some who have put longer shocks on front and rear and tried the trick to have the OEM airbag self level to a 1/2 to 3/4 inch ride height increase (if you google on youtube, you can easily find).
What I was wondering is what about adding anything from the 3rd generation Lexus GX550 system since it is setup to run 32-33" tires already. I wondered how the shocks and coils on it would work on the 2nd gen GX460.
I also wondered about finding some coils that are a little taller than original and putting them on with original shocks and the airbag trick. Would loose some travel, but maybe gain the 1/2" or so. I run 31.1 (Wildpeak Rubitrek 255/70R17) and they rub when turning and hitting bumps or dips.
