The rust that is already causing structural failure of the skid plate in front, and rot on the LCAs.

I feel the limited photos of this truck in effect hide what would be a nightmare if @vjr021 planned to keep this thing for any length of time. Tons of stuck bolts, some of them very difficult like the LCA cam bolts, rotted rear brake backing plates, the list goes on.

Unless the plan was to take it up north where vehicles are going to succumb to rust regardless, I’d keep looking.

You call that rot? And even on the lower control arms? Also that skid plate is made of paper thin sheet steel. I would call that to be pretty good condition.
All I'm seeing here is just the front getting some rock chips that have caused visual rust. Owner probably lived on a gravel road or something. If its a good deal on paper, I'd personally jump on this one.

Or, they can wait and pay a little more for one they will not have any of these problems with. They live somewhere they won’t ever have to deal with this unless they buy an already compromised one.

Paper thin? Yes. All that means is it is quicker to show the issue that will afflict this whole vehicle. Are you also going to shrug off the KDSS valve, LCA bolts, exhaust problems, or knowledge that nearly any work needed under this thing will be significantly more difficult than a clean one? For the life of the vehicle?

I guess i better sell my FJ60 and my 100 before they fully decay. They’ve lived their whole lives up north. Sure, the sheet metal is pristine but the frame may go any second. May sell my 200 as well. Better safe than sorry!

Do your 60 or 100 have KDSS?
Key difference.. where you are there is no choice. In Florida there is no reason to deal with the inconvenience or potential failures of corrosion. I’ve seen multiple posts on this board from people that wish they had held out for a rust free example.

Find a local dealer and have this applied, then have it checked once a year....https://nhoilundercoating.com/vehicle-undercoating-near-me/
