Like most my front speakers foam surrounds disappeared. I tried a set of kicker 6.5's and they sound worse than the speakers my dad had in his 92 Sentra. I have a budget of about 200ish dollars to replace the front speakers. I don't want to change amps or anything, just get a better sound out of the front. Should I buy 2 ohm speakers? Does anyone have anything that they recently used that works? These Kickers are a shallow depth speaker and are 3/4" smaller in depth than the factory JBL which are probably double the weight. Im an old school audio nut, had 3 way MB Quarts in my old Jeep Cherokee, and 1200 real watts back in the day, now I just want to hear the waze go off so I don't have to hear my co pilot yell at me LOL.

The speakers I have currently, till they get returned are 46CSC654

Yes, they need to be 2 ohm unless you're going to get rid of the factory amp and go total aftermarket. I went with PowerBass OE-652 2 ohm replacement speakers and they sound good. Happy with the clarity.

Did you do front and rear doors? My rear doors are fine. Hows the bass? Thats my complaint.

I did both front and rear. Bass is not overpowering. I listen mostly to rock and country, so they are good for that.

Pop/rap may be a different story.

Are you sure your rear sub isn’t blown as well? It also is 6.5” and in the 3rd row.

The kickers I have sound like nothing, ill try the powerbass. Its simple to get the panels off.

inquiring minds want to know: what to look for if 4ohms were installed (distortion, or???).
They were just meh, The blown stockers sounded better. Im going to really seal the heck out of these powerbass ones. Foam around the attachment etc.

Why not re-foam the original speakers. It's cheap, easy and makes the speaker nearly as new. Recently did my rear sub and it back to sounding perfect.

Simply speakers is who sells the kits.

Its JBL not Levinson. And one sounds like the voicecoil is shot when you move the cone. But I am gonna try to rebuild, thanks for the suggestion!
