05 Lx Vs 06 Lx?

Not sure about the hp but I would get you and 3 other friends (around 200lbs each) to test drive both at speed on the highway and see if the 06 is worth it. Please report back with findings. I would like to know how the 06 feels in the passing department.

the 06 gets you the sick new grille and LED tailights. Then again i dont know if its worth 10k for, but i sure as hell wish i had it.
Ive driven the 06 in comparison to a 04 and my 2000. the 2004 was the slowest becaust it was totally stock. The 2006 and mine are same in speed, but the 06 is quiet.

I love it when I step on the gas in my 06. If you can afford it, I would bargain on the 06 to see what they will come down to.

I say get an 03 with all the money you just saved turbocharge it and ARB arm it. I've owned a 98 LX and I loved it. I drove a 98 LC and it did feel atad bit quicker. I drove my cousins 03 with a 5spd and raced a 05 F350 in it and it just jumped away from a dead stop. I drove a brand new 06 LC and I honestly couldn't tell the difference in powere between the 60,000k 03 or this brand new 2 mile 06 LandCruiser.

What have you done to your 2000 (225HP?) to be as fast as the 06 (275HP)???
Well, one i have stock tires...no big M/Ts or something. No ARBys on either end. 0-60 in 8.6-8.7seconds w/ the WAAG Center guard and hella 4000s on the front, and probably even a little faster now that i dont have that stuff on the front right now When i was doing the acceration testing i had a curb weight of 5760lbs with a full tank. I went to a garbage dump and weighed in.
The Borla Cat-back has made throttle response a lot better and can get up to speed just as fast, if not faster then the 06. I mean, i have less rolling mass in terms of my wheels also, 16" vs 18". The transmission also is the 4spd not the 5 so that might have something else to do with it.
I actually got some older guy, say in his mid 40s to race me at a light the other day in his 2007 LX470. I was able to pull on him just a little. His front bumper was at my back bumper when we decided to let off at about 60mph.
oh and the "Drag race" was done on a closed course with professional drivers.

I guess you have to ask if 20K miles, an extra year of warranty, and a bit more hp is worth $10K.
I'd probably go for the '05 just because of depreciation. Although the mileage differential is a bit off, you have a pretty good idea that that '06 will be worth $10K less than you'll pay for it in a year. See what I mean?

I guess the comparison should be done to retail of a new 06. There are some great deals out there right now depending on your part of the country. You haven't said what you are paying for these. Otherwise, what aedgington said above.
