04 TLC or 05 LX?

Same mileage, similar equpment except for all the LX goodies.
LX is CPO and about 10K more then the TLC.
The TLC is in town and the LX is at a Lexus dealer 500 miles away.

Help gang! I am close to pulling the trigger. Which way would you go?

$10K is a big price difference (at least for me!). Does the LC have a warranty underwritten by Toyota/Toyota financial? Reason I ask is the '04's had a TSB on the nav unit going bad ('04 was the first year of the gen-4 nav and rear camera). If you buy a '04 that has not have the nav replaced, make absolutely sure it has a warranty. Otherwise, a new nav is like $5K!! (and that $10K difference doesn't sound like so much anymore).

If the LC has not had the nav fixed and has no warranty, I'd get the '05 LX, figuring the difference is really $5K 'cause there's a good chance you'll probably have to have the nav unit replaced in the LC. You might want to extend the CPO warranty on the LX to suit your driving. I bought my rig @50K mi, figured I'd drive it at most 10K mi/year, so I extended the CPO by 2 yrs for practically nothing (got 80% off!). It's cheaper to bargain on the vehicle and CPO as a package than to wait and buy the extension later.

It has the remainder of the Toyota warranty. It has 34.5K on it now. Do you have to wait for the nav to break or can you fix a head of time? 5K seems high for a option that costs 2k?

This is through a Toyota dealer, right?

Already thought of that and 10K difference is factored in. The LC is privatly owned and the LX is at the dealer.

What about the NAV?

if the 100 will be a daily driver i would suggest you get the LX. You can still mod the LX if you DO want to eventually make it an offroader(ex:Slee) but for now, if its going to be used as a daily driver for a few years or what not, i would suggest investing in the LX over the Land Cruiser.

Leaning toward the LC. The 04 has many of the LX features that I like and the others I do not care so much. It is local from a nice PO with perfect records.
Priced below trade in value for KBB. Very hard to say no!

As long as it wasnt me who owned it, mine has all sorts of things going on...i just cut out my rear reflectors today to mount lights, lol!

Since you are going to get the land cruiser instead of the LX, what are you plans for it? You cant REALLLLY be considering driving a totally stock truck EVERY day?!?! that would be so painful.

I always end up doing some mods but I am keeping my 80 and it's nicely moded with more on the way.

My plan is to fully detail the TLC inside and out. Then change all fluids to syn, check brake pads, take off the roof rack and running boards. 80/100's look so much nicer without them! DVD for my son, then drive it for a while and see what else I want to do.

FYI. The TSB applies to the LX as well. Same Nav units.
