I converted to discs on the front and have everything associated with that for free to whoever can use it. All came off of a 1975 fj55. Some of it is fairly new (within 15,000 miles). No leaks from the brake cylinders and the shoes have plenty of life left. Maybe someone would just like spares...
This is a question born of laziness.
I bought new drum brake backing plates and they have black paint or primer on them.
Should I scuff them up and spray on some car-quality paint or mount them as they are?
Finished a complete drum brake rebuild on the rear my 1975 FJ40. Napa Parts.
Followed the FSM as best as I could for the process but it did not mention the lugs on one side of the shoes.
Drums fit fine, but measuring the circumference it is much larger on the adjuster aspect and not "round" the...
