Due to the heavy springs in the rear and the mediums in the front, my truck had a bad case of "stink bug" the rear was 1.75" inches higher than the front. Really like the Slee spacers, but buying the truck, tires, springs and shocks in the last month my check book is smoking, that $200.00 is not going to happen soon! I found a chunk of 6"x 1.5" 6061 and cut 6 1/4" pieces, a buddy of mine milled them to shape on his CNC mill.

Our design is one piece with a 3/4" counter bore down to the stud, a long connector nut screws onto the bump stop stud holding the spacer and a bolt threads into the top of the nut to hold it on the truck.

We made two sets, one 1 1/4" and used the 1 1/2" set, it is just the ticket. The rear measures 23 3/4" and the front was 22" after the spacers it's 23.1/2" from the center of the hub to the fender. The truck still drives nice, the steering returns to center and no detectable vibration. I will have the camber checked to see where it's at. But the emergency handling got checked on the way home, complete with tires howling, rubber smoke and Junk's favorite hand gesture, when a young lady in an Altima decided she wanted to share my lane at 80 MPH on the freeway!

This afternoon a semi dropped off a cardboard homeless shelter (wow what a big box!) inside was an ARB bull bar. I wanted a plain bumper, but there were none to be had so they sold me a winch bar for the same money, $600.00! You would think that a nicely engineered unit like this would come with a list of winches that fit, but nooo, so off to research what kind of "bling bling" winches will fit in this hole in my bumper. I don't even have the license plate for this thing yet and it's already a money pit! I don't think you could find the bottom of that pit with ground penetrating radar! :D

Very cool indeed! :D

It is beyond nice to have friends in a machine shop. Better yet if they own it.

Nice looking lexus you have there!

Nice!Is there a reason why he didn't use steel? Thanks for sharing your photos!

>Is he interested in making up some more?

I will ask if he is interested in making a run of them, they are very busy making H2 bling and M16 parts.

>Is there a reason why he didn't use steel?

Steel is much heavier, harder to cut, we had the aluminum and it's plenty strong.

Plus, Aluminium doesn't rust!

No, but it does corrode.. Fortunately, the corrosion (Aluminum oxide or Corundum) creates a coating and protects the aluminum underneath.. :D Loved chemistry!

what kind of tires are those and the size?

Any concern about chipping and flaking of the paint on steel mount and ending up with a reaction of the dis-similar metals?

I don't think there will be any problems with that in Arizona? I was going to get them anodized, but I wanted them on the truck! As soon as my checkbook recovers a bit, I will probably get some J springs and L shocks for the front and take the spacers off anyway.

Very nice rig. Who'd you get the bumper from? Maybe they're still out of the plain ones. :D

Can you e-mail me the .dxf file your friend used on his CNC? I'd like to have it on file with your pics in case I want to try it. It looks easy enough to draw on CAD, but this'd save me getting under the truck to measure.

Me too please?

Thanks.

Here is the "trailer trash" CAD drawing. :D

I will see if he saved the file, I don't think it was very detailed, just the outline with the holes indicated? If he has it I will post a link.

Very helpful sketch, looks like one of mine! I just need to know how far is the upper hole from the center of the main circle, or from the edge of the main circle? And what size bolts are those clearance holes for? Thanks!

Count me in for one. Ideas on cost?

Not to nag, but if your friend does decide to produce spacers, how long wil that take and how long till they will be shipped?

I would like to know if I will need to find another solution.

Have the exact same tires, love them.
