Looking to buy Fj40 w/v8 conversion

Seasons Greetings,

I am looking for a FJ40 for my husband for Christmas (hopefully). 10 years ago I stupidly made him sell his '74 Fj40 w/chevy 350 - I thought it was too expensive and annoying to keep in good working order. Anyway, I am wiser now (hence the username) and want to fix my mistake.

Here's my wishlist:
- Probably 90% street driving/10% off road
- V8 conversion
- hardtop
- jumpseats (we've got 2 rugrats now that will want to ride also)
-not lifted/diamond-plated/painted non-stock color - i.e. mostly stock except for the v8
-somewhere close to the $5,000 - 10,000 range

We are in Houston, so the closer the better. But I'd be willing to ship the truck, if I can find someone to inspect it for me.

He doesn't know about this quest, so I appreciate any leads or advice.

Mine is far from stock but is for sale.
72 hard top v8. Lift and 35'' tires

It takes a good lady to admit a mistake over selling a landcruiser and to fix it by purchasing another for a surprise. Sweeeet.

Have you posted up on the Lone Star Land Cruiser section on this board? I would think that it would help to have someone like Butch or the like to look one over and get a solid cruiser that is worth the money spent...

Thanks D'Animal. Good leads there. I think I may give in on the v8 to try to stay as close to stock as possible. I appreciate it though.

Cruiser

I'm currently restoring a Nov. 1978 to stock w/ or with out the V8. I own Southeast Landcruisers. This is a stage one resto back to the stock white with hard top and 32" tires. My shop is in S. Florida but can deliver to Pensacola Fl. when complete at the end of Jan. 08. The price will be around 10 or 11 thousand.

Regards,
MIke

Did you find one?

We want to see a pic of your lucky husband and his new fj40!
