Well I have managed to return home and unpack some of the truck which is still soaking wet on the inside.
I want to thank Jake - I still feel like s*** about the damage to his truck as it happened when he was trying to pull me out.
Thanks goes to Marcin and the guys that joined us in the 4runner/cruiser/Frankenstein truck that managed to tow my dumb ass out of the lake.
This was another wonderful trip (all damages aside) that again showed what a great bunch of people are in our club, everyone was helping out with the repairs, spotting, and towing.
I managed to sustain a bit of damage on the rock in the lake as it got jammed in between my rear bumper and the rear diff (I still don't know how the front got over it) and it dented the hell out of the bottom of my fuel tank. It also bent the rear bumper a bit. The water damage I have not been able to asses entirely, so far, both the head lights blew the bulbs, I am pretty sure the high beam relay is gone, the alarm is not really working anymore, the rear heater is dead, I am pretty sure at least one of my audio amps is gone, the cell phone and ipod went swimming and I'll see what happens with that. Of course everything is wet and I will be needing a bunch of new maps and some other things.
As for the remainder of the trip, we left Hale and headed up to Sunrise to meet with Drew and a couple of guys in a 74. V rock was it's usual fun, I did more damage to the back bumper. Greg ripped of a bumper and cap and surprisingly Sopel did nothing to his truck.
After wards we headed to Mystery Creek, lost Aaron in the process, managed to track him down again and continued to North Chehalis. Mike went ahead to scope out a trail and by the time we all regrouped and started following him he came back with bad news of washouts. So we kept going to I think it was William Lake FSR (not sure) and got to a nice rocky pass where the 4runner blew his from drive shaft apart and had to call it quits for the day. Mike and the guys in the other 74 decided to cross and continue along while the rest of us decided to call it a day and head back. It would have ended there but we decided to have fun and head to Margaret creek FSR and take that way home. The trail was great, nothing too crazy until we got to the washouts which were fun. First one was a bit of a rock crawl and the next was a large mess of broken trees and mud that someone had put a lot of work into making passable. With daylight quickly escaping we continued along the mountain side trails and finally hit the main FSR at the bottom of can opener. Everyone managed to come off the mountain in relatively one piece and I managed to add another dent from a stubborn log. I am sure I missed some details.
Does anyone know if Mike made it back?
