mini front = 57"

FJ40 axles are 57" front, 55/56" rear.

FJ80s are 63 (front and rear I believe)

Please correct any bad numbers I have.

Mini : 55.5 front/55 rea
Tundra is 66"
T100 is 63"
80s are 63.5" front/63" Rear

1988 BJ74 cable lockers

FF rear= 1404mm or 55.3"
front 1430mm 56.3"

These are accurate to within a mm or so.

According to the Epc axle shafts are the same number for these 70 series axle sets as for a late model 40. It is often stated that the 70 series are wider. These are identical in width to the my '84 40.

Sorry to revive an old thread... What's the difference, if any, between 60 and 62 axles? I know springs are different but is width/gearing etc the same between 60/62s?

Thanks

Also, IIRC 40 and 60 3rds are interchangeable?

USA 60 series = 3.70 gearing 62 series = 4.11

And yes, 40 and 60 series thirds are interchangeable drive shaft bolt patterns may be different tho.

Got it, Thanks.

An fj62 front axle is trussed underneath in a fashion similar to an 80-series rear axle. Also the backing plates have ducted vents that pull air into the brakes.
