I'm selling the drivetrain out of a 1981 BJ60, Canadian spec. I talked more in detail with the original owner of the vehicle (I bought it for other parts), and can tell you the following:

-engine has lots of km's - about 440,000. It runs really strong, but realistically, rebuild will be required in the not-too-distant future
-in the past year, a new starter and alternator have been installed.
-there is a minor leak from the head gasket, passenger side, which the previous owner said had been there the entire time he owned the truck (about 7 years). Apparently this is not an uncommon 3B issue. The previous owner never stripped the engine or messed with it at all. I drove the truck about 15 km home, and it ran flawlessly.
-injectors were rebuilt about a year ago, and at that time new glow plugs were installed, along with new engine mounts.
-The 5-speed H55f was put in 4 or 5 years ago and came, unmodified, out of an '86 BJ60 w. 3B. The tranny probably has 250,000 km on it, has no leaks or unduly bad noises. Shifting is crisp and smooth.
-transfer is in good condition, no leaks or noises.

The truck is a 12v truck, with two 12 v batteries in parallel.

I am wanting to sell the whole package for $3000. That includes everything attached to the engine and tranny, like:

- alternator, starter, injector pump and EDIC motor, exhaust manifold, engine and tranny mounts, viscous fan, belts
- speedo cable, clutch slave cyl., reversing light switch, tach sensor, transmission and transfer shift levers and boots
- main glow and EDIC relays

Not included is the air cleaner.

For another $500 (total of $3500), I will throw in the front and rear driveshafts (good condition), rear axle complete (a semi-floater w. drums), radiator (re-cored) and shroud, tachometer, and any other electrical components needed. I cannot supply the harness however.

I will try to sell it as a package, and if I get no takers in the next few weeks, then I will consider breaking it up further.

I think for the price it is a good deal - a complete 3B diesel drivetrain package.

I can palletize it for shipping, from V9L 6M7 Duncan B.C., or crate it for an additional charge.

I still want it... badly!!!!!!!

Why is it that the North is so far... well ... North???

Good luck w/ the sale... if it can ship to Louisiana (only furthered South by Florida) for a reasonable price... I want it!!!!!!

Good luck bud

Scott
