In an effort to inform and provide transparency, I wanted to inform you of a recall on the WARN VR EVO remote. This is not on the winch itself, just the winch remote. Here's our official statement:
IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL NOTICE NHTSA Recall No. 22E101
Warn Industries has decided that a defect...
The numbers, unfortunately, don't help much. But from the appearance, it looks to be a an old 12,000 lb. winch likely from the mid 1980s. That's when those clutch levers with the black ball knobs were used. It's possible it's an MX12085.

The quality will be the same.
In terms of mounting upside down, you can mount it any way you choose so long as the winch rope comes off the bottom of the drum. (If you flip it 180 degrees, it'll be on the top, but the rope must follow that orientation for the brake to work correctly.)...
The 9.5xp is a great winch, but is older. The ZEON as an IP68 waterproof rating. The 9.5xp has our extreme-duty sealing, but it's more like IP67.
A ZEON 10 Platinum is going to have 44 ft/sec. at 0 load and 5.6 ft/sec at 10,000 lbs.
A ZEON 10 will have 33 ft/sec. at 0 load and 4.8 ft/sec. at...
It's unlikely we'd be able to ID the year with just the motor.
I can tell you this: It's no older than 2000 unless the motor was replaced. Looking through old catalogs, in 2000 we went from a finned motor-end housing to a standard one. We changed our logo in 2005, so it's likely this winch's...
It will totally depend on what needs to replaced, if certain parts are missing, etc. The winch pages on warn.com all have exploded-view diagrams under the Manuals & Literature tabs.
Hmm ... not sure on that one. You might give customer service a call at 800-543-9276.

I do not know this, nor am I sure which mine it comes from.
Gladly.
Yes and yes.
Yes we have a test lab and a full time staff of several people who work in it. We do test everything to failure. We do an extreme amount of testing on every vehicle recovery product we offer.
I'm sorry...
