2001 with 183k Leaking from both ends. Passenger side was worse than drivers. Loose while driving and didn’t return quickly to center after a turn. Tried stopping leak with AT-205. It firmed it up but still leaked.

Just replaced the PS rack on my 100 series. I do not need to return the old one for a core charge so I figured I would see if anyone on here would like one to try and rebuild. You would only need to pay the shipping and I'll get it on the way. Otherwise it will probably end up in the dumpster...

That’s what I ended up doing. Got it off this morning. The threads about halfway down the bolt were flat so it was just spinning.

My bolt in the hole by the tranny plug won’t back out. Just spins. I assume it’s threaded into the support and doesn’t have a nut on the tops side... Any pointers?

I will order bushings if the leaking stops and see if that helps. It is the TRE boot on the passenger side. The boot around the passenger TRE ball joint is torn as well. I am thinking about replacing the boot and TRE. Does counting threads get you close enough to not need a realign...

I ran the carfax. Showed two minor accidents. Both from the owner who had it for 12+ years. One was minor hail damage the other was the driver side bumper (which is still damaged) and I plan to replace eventually. Nothing that is showing to be on any specific side.

Don’t mean to hijack your thread but I just bought a 100 with a 2.5” lift. It’s got 275/65r20 mudders on it. I bought the car for my wife and the mudders are pretty loud and seem to wander, so shes not too keen on them. I’m thinking about switching them to my truck and putting something else on...

Update: flushed the steering system yesterday. The fluid that came out was pretty clear. I assume the previous owners was just running generic PS fluid and not AFT. I now have clean M1 ATF and AT-205. The steering seems a lot more firm. I spent the afternoon cleaning up the mess from the leaking...

Found all the stuff at my local store. Going to try and tackle it tomorrow. Hopefully it clears up and/or fixes the issue. Fingers crossed!

I just bought a 2001 LX. It only came with 1 valet key. The valet does start the car as well as lock the glove box but when inserted the security light takes a few seconds to go off. I bought this car for my wife and she would like to have a key with 3 button function (lock, unlock, panic)...

Is there detailed step by step instructions on this process? Can the fluids be found at local parts stores?

So I need to flush it with Mobil 1 ATF and then refill with AT-205? How much of each fluid will I need to purchase?
