Yeah the gear indicator lights in the dash. Everything was working before the truck got shut down over the winter. Battery had no charge when I worked on it and tore it all down and removed the center console parts. Once reassembled I hooked up my battery charger fired her up. Didn’t do anything...
So.. another update. Went out for a test drive after reassembly of the interior and my speedometer, odometer, and gear indicator lights are not working... (Tach, and other gauges are working)
system is not throwing any codes at me and I didn’t forget to plug anything back in during...
Ripping out the carpet is a pretty straightforward job. Just make sure to not break the tabs on any of the trim panels you pull off. I removed everything to clean underneath it. Used vodka on the seats and seatbelts to kill the mold spores. The jute under the carpet is the biggest pain. Make...
Update! It’s been a long and wet winter. I found that the previous owner had not sealed the windshield properly when he had it replaced by finding mold everywhere under the seats. It really killed the drive to work on the truck and got into a bit of depression because I just could not figure it...
Here goes nothing. Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I’ll update once dry. Thankfully I got the one afternoon of sun to do this as it’s supposed to rain all week..
The reason I want to seal the sunroof is due to the photo in the original post. I removed the dealer installed shield that had been on there for 25 or so years.. it’s caused that deformity on both corners of the gasket where the brackets went in to attach the shield. I don’t trust that gap in...

Hello again all!
Seattle just got hit with one of its biggest rain storms in a while and my (new to me) 80 has started to show its holes. The truck came from a drier climate out in Bend OR so I’m sure it’s not used to this much rain. The driver front carpet has soaked through and is not drying...
Just something small this weekend. Stock running board delete. Just need to find the front mud guards until I can replace all 4 fenders and find some good sliders.
SHE LIVES! Its been a long few months but the old girl is like Dick Cheney and just didn't want to die!
When we pulled the head apart we came to find that the timing chain guides just decided to fall right off. The chain was rubbing and instantly tore it all off and replaced the whole timing...
Save her if you can! Its so worth it. The values are only shooting through the roof on these old LCs. the 80 series is starting to see the jump now that the 40s & 60s are in collector car territory. To replace what you have will cost more (even after the repair) if you end up regretting selling...
