You'll see in the pics from tomorrow, the weld didn't break the pipe did. The section welded to the frame is still there.

Yeah, lot's of things need attention and/or could be done better. Been thinking about going back to spring under axle as well. And I'll snap more pictures tomorrow after I get off work.

Shoot mine looks like a previous owner threw an extra spring on the return. Cable just snapped and was in bad shape. It's a wonder she held together as long as she did.

Does this need to be hooked up? How can you tell if it stopped working? What would happen if it was removed? How would you remove this and keep the engine from having vacuum leak issues? Sorry I just figured this thing has probably stopped working correctly long ago, and am trying to figure out...
