    Transporting 22RE engine for rebuild

Hi @pappy removed starter. Still won’t separate from bellhousing. Do I need to remove the stud that goes into bellhousing and holds starter? There is space between bellhousing and block...but if I cannot get it further I will call towtruck... Thanks so much for your advice!

    Transporting 22RE engine for rebuild

So...I thought I had the engine ready to pull. I go to pull it...and it's still attached somewhere to the bell housing. I got the 8 bolts out. I thought I had everything. Are there more points of attachment between the engine and bell housing? Apologies if that is also a stupid question... st

Thank you @pappy and @SMG for the photos! These make me feel OK about pulling and transporting the motor. This is, as you may have guessed, my first time doing this. st

    Transporting 22RE engine for rebuild

Dear All 1994 Toyota 22RE 4x4. I've had it since new. It's in excellent shape. The (2nd) timing chain guides recently broke and, in the process of checking over the truck also discovered the compression is a bit down in 2 of the cylinders and will, eventually, need a re-build. Decided to have...

    Got side-swiped...now what?

Update... The local Toyota dealer will replace the bumper, end cap, mounting brackets, fender, etc...do the paint and everything. All with OEM parts. They quoted a price of ~2000 USD. I think I will just go ahead with this...even though the patina will be completely different. It will all be...

    Got side-swiped...now what?

Ha. I like to think that sends a sort of 'I'm working on it...wait until you see it when it's finished' vibe.

    Got side-swiped...now what?

Thank you @g-man for this good advice all around. Yes, it was the only vehicle we have (even though I know the first thing I should do when I buy an old cruiser is to also buy another car). So a rental will definitely be part of the deal. And, yes, I figure they will try to claim it's totaled...

    Got side-swiped...now what?

Thanks everyone for your replies. @FJACS It sort of went immediately to insurance...but it will be on theirs...not mine. I've been looking at the parts sites to see what is available. We'll see what the adjuster says if they even bother to come look. @Don Pedro thanks for the suggestion of...

    Got side-swiped...now what?

Hi All so the 1984 FJ60 got side swiped yesterday. Significant other was driving. Fault was the semi-truck driver. Any advice on best replacement equipment? Here's the damage:
