Some finishing touches; will make a cowl between the front hood scoop and the radiator to make sort of a 'ram air scoop '
Notch for the steering box
Finally wrapped this bracket up and sent off for paint.
Everything is stuffed in there with the hood shut. With about 1 in of clearance to the hood in the absolute worst case scenario, everything should fit nicely.
Aiming to get the radiator spaced to within 1 in from the mechanical fan.
There is no doubt that space is tight with the front mount...
Now the last little bit of figuring out will be how to move the radiator closer, keeping the same height, and maintaining the clearance to the 60 series box and flat pitman arm. I think I have an idea...
Next up was the power steering bottle fitment. Fairly easy, keeps it as far from the turbine housing outlet and exhaust as possible if it sits up front. Serviceable from the front of the truck, easy to bleed air and drain if needed.
99% sure that this is the final location.
1" OD line is...
I went ahead and dropped the assembly in to see what kind of space I had. Intercooler is exactly where I was hoping. This is sitting at just about 3/4" clearance from the very highest point of the radiator Assembly to the lowest part of the hood.
Moving the radiator closer to the engine will...
I started with a very basic design on this cooling bracket. Using a 4 row aluminum radiator meant for a 2Gen 4runner. Not only were there more rows in the radiator, but each cooling passage was also larger in cross-sectional area and the radiator is a bit taller/ wider.
The radiator is much...
I'll post a video of my (modified) Metal Tech fender build and install on my channel.

One other note. Buy 20 or so work clamps from harbor freight. They are $3-5 each and you might as well consider this to be impossible without having at...
We opted for the metal tech 4x4 kit to build these saving time, material, and a bit of $$$.
I wasn't a huge fan of how you have to trim the side apron per their instructions, obviously we didn't want to drill/bolt into the frame if we didn't have to, and generally tried to clean up the body...
Not mad about how this matches. They are within a couple 1-2 mm alignment from left to right which is tough to achieve on an old 40.
They will get a nice little diamond checker plate to match the rock slider top cap. More of an accent to tie everything together sort of like the Rover...
I made a small jig with three planes. Passenger to driver, front to back and the third was a body line plane. Some tube clamped to the last pillar on the rear quarter panel and a straight line down the truck to give a body line that I could follow.
This proved to be really helpful
This line...
