Can anyone help me with a part no. for a replacement clutch for stock 1970 FJ40 made Feb of 70
The unit has a 3 speed stick transmission Would also appreciated any info on where to purchase from, I understand there may be two types of clutches for this year,??? Any help is appreciated
Had the same heat issue... found heater valve on block was not shutting off. Was scared to take valve out from block as been there 51 years so added in another valve, a pec 5/8 inch ball valve, problem solved , as no hot water thru heater hoses at all till next winter
i purchased a 71 for parts for my 70 though not needed, but was looking and cant find the transfer case shift lever. were some full time 4x4??? Unit does have warn hubs. There is a lever under the dash beside steering column .. could this be the t case shifter ? unit is not running
OK another story... purchased my first fj40 ,a a1975 in early 76, drove it till 86 and sold it. BUT i bought the 75 because my buddy bought a 70 in feb of 71, and i was with him. Long story short, he passed away last year, and i bought the 70 fj, all orginal and not driven in last 15 years...
Well Guys, i found the problem. the carb is worn out. The throttle shaft is allowing in air and creating the vaccum drop. Sprayed brake cleaner right on shaft an idle smooths out. Never got around to back side of carb as i am a bit mobility challenged (rotator cuffs) LOL NOW... the search...
