Anyone in the Buffalo/Amherst area? Need a favor

Hoping a Landcruiser friend is in the area that could grab a part I found on Craigslist and ship it to me. The guy listing it said he’s only doing a local sale. Unfortunately for me, I’m in Texas. It’s an old air cleaner for a corvette, and not super rare (they make reproduction pieces), but...

You have now fixed the advance and will need to reset timing to be correct with factory spec (not set to compensate for the incorrect advance). rotate engine to 7 btdc and verify the rotor is pointing to the bolt just above on the pushrod cover. then rotate distributor where points just open...

If the weights were frozen would the spring check still technically snap the distributor back? Only verifying the springs are there and operating, but perhaps the centrifugal weights aren’t free moving allowing advance? Could any sort of corrosion or drag alter the performance/resistance of the...

I can’t remember off the top of my head, it’s either a screw under the rotor in the shaft or I think there are two retainers that hold the plate assembly in. Yes the weights should be under that.

Are you working with an original distributor? (Never mind noticed the experts figured that out already) Is the mechanical advance working properly? Sometimes you can just remove the cap and clean up the weight surfaces and make sure the springs aren’t missing to make it work again. My 60 and...

me personally I’d get rid of the electric pump. The mechanical fuel pump was a system Toyota believed in and In my opinion for good reason. It’s been a long time since I’ve messed with the fuel system in a 2f, but I believe the mechanical fuel pumps push less than 10psi. The wrong electric pump...

Exactly what I suspect in my post above. Fortunately with the glass site window it should be a quick verification.

Didn’t see if someone mentioned this, but with the electric fuel pump are you sure the pressure isn’t too high and over powering the float in the carb causing a flooding/rich condition after running? Second are you sure the float level is set correctly? The fuel should be I believe halfway in...

Wanted  75 fj40 dash windshield mount and rear bumpstop mount

Hey there I’m looking for two pieces. First, I need a rear bumpstop mount. Second, I’m looking for the mount that is tack welded to the dash that secures the windshield. I am attaching two photos with both pieces circled in yellow. Shipping would be to Austin, Tx. Thanks!

    Rear axle housing inner diameter?

Thanks for the replies. I agree the honing may not be the ideal solution. I’m looking at a wire brush on a drill to help remove the rust scale then treat with some sort of rust stop.

    Rear axle housing inner diameter?

Can anyone tell me the rear inner axle tube/housing diameter? I want to run a hone through it to clean away all of the rust. I’d measure it myself except I don’t have the ability at the moment. Thanks fellow mudders!
