What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Used both abrasive wheel and cut wheel. Cut wheel ontop of middle braces going at an angle into the frame rail as it was a bit hard getting a sawzall in there without the blade hitting the body. Also cut wheel on the bottom angle on frame rail ends. Abrasive to clean up any weld material left.

    4x4 Labs Rear Bumper

I must say I was hesitant to do this on my own and just take it to a shop. Had the pre-fabbed one shipped freight to my work (as I manage shipping) and loaded it into back with the 80 with the seats folded up (yes it fits with several inches to spare) probably have close to a foot if the middle...

Has anyone RECENTLY done a DIY rear swingout bumper?

Literally just installed the 4x4 Labs rear bumper the past 2 days... it was the pre-fabbed one. Hardest is cutting everything out, bumper went on in less than an hour with 10 bolts. I went this route to save time and not quite the welder...

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

First time ever using a sawzall and angle grinder, pretty happy with the turnout... can definitely feel the weight back there now. Removed the strut stickers and painted bolts black to match

    Dobinson's C97-144VT / C97-145VT What Shocks?

Lift mentions a final rest at approx. 3.5" lift once necessary weight has been added. Does anyone know if the Dobinson's IMS monotube 0-3" shocks (IMS59-60683 & IMS59-60682) would be sufficient or jump up to the 4" long travel shocks (IMS45-60912 & IMS59-60687) to make more use of articulation...

Surging Steep Grades Uphill Highways Speeds

Vehicle is surging going up steeper grades on the highway, the surging is consistent almost for 3 seconds on/off until a level plane is reached. Not sure if this is fuel related or if anyone else has experienced such an issue. On level grades it doesn't do this at all, runs fine, only steeper...

What are the minor differences between 80 series years?

My '94 had pre-wiring for heated seats, just cut out coin slots and added switches of course with fancy new heated seats

Is this a good 96 cruiser to buy?

Back in the middle of Nov. 2024 I paid $12.5k for a '94 350k clean body, no rust, triple locked, rebuilt engine with 4k on it and all new interior (carpet, seats (new heated seats installed, side door covers, etc.) no leaks the thing is clean. So there's a reference for you but obviously...

    Rear Cargo Barrier Options?

yeah I've already reviewed those threads previously, definitely need something steel, no netting. Have to pay $65 for the brackets to even bolt up the main piece. Then if you want to enclose like another 8" on the top then it's like another $385, just kind of ridiculous when the Wit's End unit...

    Rear Cargo Barrier Options?

Is Delta really the only solid choice now for a rear cargo barrier? Seen the Wit's End and would prefer that style but understand they no longer make these anymore. Having a hard time to justify paying $435 for the Delta plus all the other add-ons just to be able to bolt it up. Threw a post up...

    Wanted 80 Series Cargo Barrier

Looking for any Witt's End or Delta options instead of having to pay full price for it seems like only Delta is the only option now but would prefer the Witt's End style. Thanks for any help. Located in Northern Idaho.
