I'm so glad I live in the south. Just got mine done for $200 including a new exhaust hanger in New Orleans. Muffler brand is AP, never heard of them but sounds nice and quiet.
Mine broke right at the back side of the muffler about a year ago. I went with a BlackWidow Venom 250 muffler. It sounds nice and has pretty much zero drone. Southern California shop did the work and a new muffler for about $375. It's way lighter...
LC 100 2001 300,005k steering wheel locked while driving. Only going about 20mph (turning right). Skidded to a stop in the neighbor's yard. Was able to unlock the steering after a few start/stop with the ignition. Would have been extremely...
I'm new to this side of Mud, but I will probably be here a lot more as I am looking at building up my Tacoma bit, so I figured I'd introduce myself. My Tacoma is bone stock TRD Sport with the 4.0 and an automatic (unfortunately). I have kept it...
For the number of them that get posted about here that pop off the end of the CV and then causes CV and flange spline damage, I'd say having the right thickness is pretty critical. Good groove on the CV is as well.
2001LC has a huge hub rebuild thread, I'd check that out, he explains in great detail the snap rings. Short of it is, if I'm repacking, I use the same one, not even a new one, never had an issue. If I'm replacing the bearings and races I have 2...
Only difference in labor is hammering the races out of the hub and installing the new ones. Cost is a bigger difference, hub kit vs tub of good grease.
I just inspect what's in there and have two sets of Cruiser Outfitters hub kits on hand in...
Thats a hard pass for that price IMO. Should be able to find a rust free Texas LC. May have to look outside the Houston area to make sure it wasn’t a beach vehicle.
The lower radiator hose is close to your alternator, and when it popped there’s a good chance it got soaked (and probably still is) knowing that glycol which is a main ingredient of anti-freeze doesn’t evaporate quickly. That said I would say...
Previous owner installed around 2022 I think. I just know it ls rock solid and it’s been used a lot on some rough roads with a spare tire and a storage box or fuel on the other side.
Certain parts like radiators, CV's and steering racks... I only pick up at the dealer. This is for a 200 and this is the "bad" side. Other side is perfect.
I picked mine up at local dealer - it had a few bent fins but was minimal.
I don’t fault anyone for this but my thinking is I don’t want to ever have to use a warranty- and it’s not much good on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere.
Just received my Toyota radiator from Serra. Got it during their recent 15% off event (which is currently 25% off 😩) for about $320 shipped. That’s about $100 more than a Denso or Koyorad, but it comes with the foam blocking a new cap, and I...
