Did they put the same motor every year? I was looking to buy one but the ones I test drove were weak and feel underpowered. . Did they make a more powerful one?

The FJ cruiser is weak. I test drove two of them and the motor is too weak Compared to my 2013 LC. I would have to supercharge it or something to be able to drive it. Would always feel like I could of had a V8 and the gas mileage isn’t all that great on them for a v6. If the mileage was better...
