So I recently went back up to the mountains, and on the drive up was able to hear the whining noise again. It is definitely not a roaring noise like a fan, all of my belts seem to be pretty tight and in spec. My only thought now is the alternator is going out since it only makes noise when on...

Thank you that's really good to know, I think I might take my cruiser into my local Toyota dealership for fluid changes since I don't want to deal with getting rid of it all, since most places only take oil. Ill have them check those at the same time.

I sprayed the leafs with water and it did end up making more noise and the same feeling I was getting, so super happy about that outcome. I hope thats all it ends up being. Thank you for the help!

I don't believe it is a roaring noise of a fan. If it were the alternator would it make the high pitched whine all the time? or if its just starting to go bad would it be periodically at higher RPM. I will see if I can listen closer to the noise today and report back. I also wasn"t aware the...

I will try that and see what happens.

So recently my FJ62 has been making some new noises and wanted some opinons. I have ideas on what it could be after some research but am not sure. 1st Noise: On occasion when turning my wheels to the right side when reversing and sometimes going forward it will make one knocking noise, it...

Were you ever able to go ahead with the swap and figure out what wires needed to be swapped to gain full advantage of the lights?

Update: I have all the female connectors on and ready to go, next step is to put the sensors on the housing, thermostat, and then gasket between the upper and lower housing. Is it necessary to put anything on the threads of the sensors before putting them back in the housing? Waiting on a new...

So as I find time I work on it bit by bit. One of the connectors does not have the wires attached to the connector, I'm not sure what to look up to find a video to see how to do it. If any one has advice on that it would be great. It has the wire, connector, and two metal pieces (brackets I want...

Ok that worked really well, I got the senor off which is good. However the more I compare the top of my housing to those pictures, there is a lot of corrosion and pitting of the aluminum on mine. Not sure if it would effect the performance or structure of the housing since some of it is around...

So I have started the process of replacing the sensors and I need to order a water temp switch now since the one I had the wire just slipped out. The cold start timer switch is very stuck and its a weird angle to use a wrench. Should I try heat or keep trying to use PB blaster to loosen the...

This will be my first meeting and I would like to attend, is it necessary for me to bring my Cruiser to the meeting? Not running to great right now and probably wouldn't be the best to drive. Looking forward to meet everyone though

Hey Guys my name is Garrett, and I'm new to land cruiser ownership but am super excited to be around other like minded people. Vehicle: 1988 blue FJ62 Fairly stock different wheels and on KO2 tires, with bilstein shocks. I have been hammering away on small maintenance on the engine, still needs...

Awesome that makes my mind a lot more at ease. Im confident in replacing the sensor my main concern is converting the female plug from the old version to the new style, I haven't done a lot of electrical work before if there are any tips or things to look out for.

My plan is now to do the conversion to the newer generation or cold start injector time switch, I found a kit from City Racer LLC with the female plug and one on Vintage Teq Parts. Is there any way of knowing which kit is going to be better than the other or more simple. Any video recommendation...
