I was going to say, Oregon is not a rust belt state, but that underside sure came from one. Did you buy it back east or was it from a local dealer? I wonder if I looked at it.

Are you sure you want this guy putting his hands back on your car? From the sound of your story I wouldn't let him rotate my tires. I'm willing to bet he's not interested in re-doing the job either.

That sounds like it was a great buy, with lots of room left in the price for any maintenance that may be needed. I looked at one in Bend last week for 3 grand more, lots more miles and a bad drivetrain growl.

Good luck, I live in the West and have been looking for at least two months for the same thing as you, and my price goes to 12K, there are some cars with over 200,000 miles that will be in your price range, but I'm pretty sure they've got other issues as well. Most decent, well documented cars...
