If you haven't taken your rig apart yet, to do some further testing, get a can of carb cleaner and lightly spray around the intake manifold ports where they meet the cylinder head. Use the little red tube that comes with the can so you can pinpoint the spray. If there is a leak it will show...
Assuming that you are referring to the accelerator pump nozzles, in my experience they do not squirt straight down.
I believe the design is to help the fuel mix with the incoming air better. ✌️
I would suggest that to bleed off the residual pressure in the front brakes, for diagnosis, you should crack the line on the master cylinder. If the pressure releases when you do that, you will know that you don't any return restrictions between the master and calipers. An internally failing...

I was able to get a local box, and I am researching a housing. I know it’s not the cheapest route, but I believe it will add value to my rig.

I am waiting to hear back from a local salvage yard today, they believe they have one, I will advise as soon as I hear.
My plan is to order the OE housing and swap the guts so I don't have to alter the frame.
