With enough time and money any modifications can be done lol. The hard part will be mounting them. It may require welding on mounting points. Then you will have to tune the suspension accordingly. Try contacting Filthy Motorsports for mounting solutions. They may have already done the R&D
Only thing I can think of that is comparable is the Filthy Motorsports King shock kit. since King shocks and Fox shocks mount very similarly you may be able to buy all the control arms and mounting tabs from Filthy Motorsports and just use fox shocks instead. You could call them and ask. They...
Well I guess its the best choice because it is the only choice. Hopefully the more people who modify their GX the more products they will make. We shall see.
So you are getting about 600 miles to a tank? Thank you for testing this out! I am leaning toward the 24 gallon tank now. The 33 gallon tank might be a little much for what I want to do
Do you run into any problems if you keep it less than half full? I may only fill it all for trips and just keep an extra ten gallons on average to help with weight and MPG's
We are in the process of selling our house now and we will be moving to Austin TX very soon so no worries! But I know what you mean. I had had 3 modified track cars in CA and I'm over the CARB dodging. It takes the fun out of engine swaps and big turbo builds.
Thank you for the brain food! I must say I did read your build before even purchasing! I came from the track car building community so I'm no stranger to tools and mechanical work. I did consider the added weight of the tank. Any idea on how much extra weight you are carrying around on average...
My real struggle was buying from an AUS company that may take a Long time to rebuild vs King that is USA and can be rebuilt quickly. Im glad we think the Dobinsons will last 40 or 50k. I can't seem to find anyone with a lot of miles on them. Thank You!
I did not ask but I would bet after 10 years in the industry that it is only on newer models. Ours is a 17 but that was the oldest they had. You may have to call a dealer to ask.
My wife and I bought a 17 gx460 last week and we found out that Lexus is offering factory bumper to bumper (terrible word usage I know but that is what they call it even though it does not cover the bumpers). We bought our car un certified but Lexus rolled out this plan the day we purchased our...
I just bought a 17 Gx460 with 40k on it for less than 30k. There are some really good deals on newer GX460's right now. Also Lexus IS offering bumper to bumper factory warranties for up to 50k additional miles for a few grand. Good luck on your hunt!
