Bump Michael - did you ever resolve this issue? Same thing happening with my 92. Kick down cable is adjusted to FSM specs, no stick in the cable or throttle body, and still can't get it to shift into 4th / O/D at all.

Yeah I doubt it. My longest bass rod I put in there is a 6'8" and I maybe still have a few inches of play before I'm out of room.

I cut and notched the front rack to get it into the middle grab handle as tightly as it could, and still high enough for my kiddos to use the handle to pull themselves in, then used from heavy black zip ties to secure. It's definitely the weakest point, but if it breaks, I always carry zip ties...
