You have just taken my PITA job and made it simple. I am going to take the body side of the hinge and cut the two tubes off. I will get some new tubing and weld them back on raising them up 1/2'. I will order a set of brass bushings and that will also take care of my extremely worn out hinges at...

Yep. Tub is as I bought it. I made no mods to it. I will get the welder out and relocate the mounting points.

I just realized that this is not a 1972 tub. It was replaced with an unknown year but judging by the gas filler it appears to be a 74-78. If by upper valance you mean the piece between the windshield frame and the top, that is missing so I can't answer that.
