    Blower motor

A little late but here’s some pics of what I did with the brushes for reassembly. First, have the wire loop ready to place over the brush and the holder. Next install the spring and use a pick to hold spring in, insert brush and place wire loop over it. Twist wire to snug. You don’t need to...

    Introduction - ‘78 FJ40 in Aus

Nice rig! This is the closest I’ve found to my 1978 Aussie FJ-45, currently being put back together after a full frame-off resto

    Record slowest build?

No worries. Appreciate it nonetheless. As they say: “I’ll get it sorted” 😂

    Record slowest build?

Thank you! I appreciate it. I saw an ad for one the other day from down under also. May have To go that route. Mine is the same. FF Rear, 3 inch brakes and the 1 1/8 bore on the MC. But at the time SOR swore they were sending me the correct one for that year. But I’ve found a few variations to...

    Record slowest build?

Where did you source your Master Cylinder? Mine came from SOR and it has the slanted reservoirs. My originals are like yours. Thx, Ken

    Record slowest build?

Hey Man, beautiful job. But don’t feel bad I’m 9 years in and like you, I’m back at it and hopefully a few weeks away from a restart. Full frame off resto, 1978 Aussie FJ-45. I also plan on a build thread as we get into the nitty gritty of reassembly!

    Brake Cylinder Question?

Update!! My bad as they say. Upon further inspection my eyes were playing tricks on me. Both inlets have the correct cone to seat both lines. So the rears are good to go. Let me switch gears and ask a different question of the group regarding the Front axle. Both Front Axle/Forward cylinders...

    Brake Cylinder Question?

After a long delay, the resto has resumed on my 1978 Aussie RHD FJ-45. Updated build thread to follow. Problem/question. Purchased 8 new wheels cylinders and installed in their correct positions. All boxes were clearly marked. Then I realized the Rear axle/left rear position only had one side...

Is the Earth flat? What about a FJ45 roof?

My top is wrapped up in the garage. Haven’t gotten that far in the resto. But it’s been blasted, primed and painted. I’ll take a couple of photos and post Tomorrow. 😉

    Rear axle locknut SST

Speaking of rear hubs…quick question: 1978 FJ45, Full Floating, with the axle nut with the axle seal. Once plate and lock nut are secure according to spec, there’s no mention of a torque on the last nut. Been a while since I pulled this rig apart. Feel like it just snugs against the lock nut...

    Builds My Hawaiian 1975 Fj40 Resto-resurrection

I remember when I was at that stage. 5 years ago! I’ve finally started reassembly. Post to come soon!

SOLD  FJ45 Steel Cap with Boat Rollers...New Jersey Shore

Afternoon All. As I re-ignite my 45 Frame-Off resto project, I've decided to let this original piece of the rig go as I'll have no practical use for it. Because it is well made, I thought some of you would get much better use out of it on the backroads. The Story: I purchased my 1978 Aussie Spec...
