How much for the ABS ECU?

That is what I was originally thinking was the problem. The ECU is on the side of the Booster correct? is there a way to repair? Thanks again for your help.

so i checked the pump it stops correctly but I did not get any alarm when i presses the pedal a bunch. does that mean the CEL for the O2 sensor might still be the problem?

thank you for the help. I did not realize the O2 sensor could interfere with the ABS, good to know. I will get that squared away and try the steps above. and brakes work fine currently, other than the actual ABS function when braking hard.

can you explain that a bit more, it was a little over my head. Are you talking about using a wire to jump form one pin to the other on the OBD plug in?

it picked up the bad o2 sensor I have at the moment as well as all the other systems on the vehicle just no ABS.

I have tried 2 different readers. last one was a Snapon at a shop near house. used vin vehicle info still nothing. fluid is at max level.

Does anyone know what might cause a code reader to not be able to detect/ communicate with the ABS system? I have every brake light that can be on on currently and when I tried to find a code for it the reader can not detect my ABS system. I have a 2000 LX470. I am leaning towards the ABS...

thanks for the info, I have cold AC even with the high temp so i think thats working just fine. i guess ill start with the Tstat and go from there. appreciate the help.

Is the electric fan in front of the radiator supposed to be on after a certain temp? I'm still leaning towards the Tstat.

I checked the Fan out and it seemed to be alright there is resistance when i try to spin it. Is there another way to check it? on a side note I popped the radiator cap off to see if it was full and i turned the truck on and it began back flowing after it got warm idk if that is a sign of anything.

i know this is an old thread but i am having a similar problem i think, except i don't lose my AC it stays cold the whole time. On the way home today my lx started running warmer than normal and peaked out one line before the red on the gage before I turned the Heat to full blast to see if that...

not really sure of the actual way to diagnose it. in my case it was more of a hunch because of a past experience. but i was also able to look at the flex plate and it looked to be in really god shape i took the cover off at let the truck idle so i cold look for any bad movement and also to check...

you can see the flex plate a little but you can not get a good look at whats going on in there.
