Help With Dual Battery & Solar

Thanks. I am leaning towards using the other controller with the larger panel. Seems best rout to take, as what I am doing is adding charge to the battery. Why force both through the redarc? I have the small little Jackery powerpack and that gives me about three nights for the CPAP, so not much...

Help With Dual Battery & Solar

I have to check that out also. I would think that running them separate is best, as you say. I find electrical stuff totally confounding, but it seems that running them separate will allow the RedArc to handle the permanent panel, and the controller for the portable setup to handle that load...

Help With Dual Battery & Solar

According to redarc, I can do a "Y" and connect both panels to the unit.

Help With Dual Battery & Solar

Thanks. So possibly I can run the Renogy permanent panel to the RedArc, like you said, and the portable panel to the battery via the controller when camped. That seems to make sense. The description of this system says : _______ Dual Battery Charger with solar input Additional features within...

Help With Dual Battery & Solar

How-Dee... I could use a little help, as electric stuff is rather confounding for me. I have a second battery in my 2008 FJC: an AGM that I need to hook up so I can run my fridge and use a CPap at night. Would also like to be able charge some camera batteries and maybe a laptop sometimes. I...

    Trailer Conversion IDeas

Thanks. Makes sense. That's what I will do: keep an eye out for a good frame.

    Trailer Conversion IDeas

Unfortunately the trailer is no more. I saw the trailer sitting on a dilapidated property, found who the owner was, and went to ask about it. The old lady, a widow, who owns the property said I could have it-to just take it. We had a nice conversation and shook hands. I left her my information...

    Trailer Conversion IDeas

I got the trailer for free. Seems like a solid little trailer. Buying one would be several thousand dollars. I think it can still be a viable overland trailer. I think it's worth a try.

    Trailer Conversion IDeas

Makes sense. I think I'll take it to the nearby college and see if they can do this. I'm in a financially tight situation at the moment and not sure what a pro welder would charge. I have a grinder and cut off wheel etc. but not much time or place to work.

    Trailer Conversion IDeas

How-DEE!! Just acquired this little trailer. I want to convert it into a little overlanding setup. I figure I can add either a roof rack on top, or a rooftop tent. I will change the hitch to a military style pintle hitch, or one of the more modern swivel hitches. Any ideas of turning it into...

    HJ45 Towing Capacity?

I'm with you! As a friend said to me "You know why divorce is so expensive? BECAUSE IT'S WORTH IT!" I also learned the truth of this other saying: "You never really know your wife until you meet her in court". I will not marry again. Would rather spend my days in the company of dogs, cats, and...

    HJ45 Towing Capacity?

Wow! It's been a while! Been through a divorce and now working on getting back on my feet. The HJ is in a safe place. Plan is to swap in a 1HDT and 5 speed and split case. Also to build a sort of lightweight camper on the back. This would be a vehicle to do adventures in... drive into the...
