I still use it but I didn’t like it on the back of the GX. Blocks the camera and the parking sensors which I like having functional.
Now I keep it on the back of my travel trailer (my thinking is a flat while towing is worse then flat while not towing) I carry an air compressor and slim in...
I like the Airlift system and I tow with it. Works great and I mounted the scheder valve (bike tire nozzle) in an open hole on the rear bumbler. To inflate when towing I use a light and cheap pump that plugs into the rear AC plug and inflate to 25 psi then manually deflate when detaching the...
I got a 200 ah lifepo battery and run a 3000 watt inverter off that. It has 2 50 watt color panels that on bright sunny days can get close to 1000%.

It’s a surprisingly light battery but you need 0000 gauge wire to go to the inverter
@Romer can you do me a solid favor and move this thread to the GX460 sub forum I made the mistake a few years ago and would greatly appreciate it if you’re able 🙏🙏
Finally did some wrenching on the GX today (still going strong 2017 with 56k miles)
Last year I was towing and got a transmission temp high warning while doing low speed off road.
I installed the Hayden 676 cooler which fit really well. Didn’t have enough space for a bigger one but it’s...
I am going the other direction and installing the Hayden 676. I have the CBI stealth with a winch so trying to conserve real estate Going to do the GXbob method and make my own mounts with some aluminum from a hardware store
Last year I was towing my 3000lb trailer on forest roads and...
My daily is the bmw 430i convertible it gets pretty good gas mileage especially on freeways (34+).
However having the bmw compared to Toyota engineering is frustrating as the GX is easy to work on (and really doesn’t have many issues) the bmw needs to be complemented daily so it doesn’t get...
Yes the CC helps control the speed especially down hill I had a 2012 4runner with DAC and the lack of speed control took my confidence away
When going down those steep grades having the 1mph is great, makes a ton of noise, but you feel in control. Going past the middle setting feels like your...
I did. Going up was alright with just low 4 Going down I used crawl control
Plus you are looking out over a ledge down towards lake Shasta the entire time I was fully clenched
Leaf blower and some ear protection especially nice on black cars
I use a foam cannon (cheap Sunjoe) let that sit for a few minutes then spray off and repeat but second time I hand wipe with gloves followed by another spray off then leaf blower time ❤️
