Thanks for sharing. The more I drive with my RTT on my rack the more I'm wanting to build a dedicated camping trailer that would serve as a fold out kitchen and base for the RTT. My main complaint (at least as an idea, hasn't been an issue yet) with the RTT is the inability to move the vehicle...
I'm curious whether there is any kind of post-machine heat treat on the TB's, as that would make machining them a much less likely option... If not, I'm curious whether having a set of non-AHC TBs turned down to 27.3mm OD would be a reasonable solution.
Got the steering shaft adjusted at the splined joint on the rack yesterday... It was so much easier to work on a joint that wasn't frozen with 24 years of rust and road gunk. Didn't even have to unbolt or remove any of the surrounding components to do it.
Yeah, that's just extra time out of my...
Yeah, I've had this issue before as well when I had to replace a battery that died right before inspection was due. Engine computer had reset and the "not finished" or "not ready" code indicates that the computer doesn't have enough driving data yet to determine if the systems are operating...
I finally got my winch wired up and the synthetic rope wound. I did a tape measure alignment late last weekend and it feels pretty dang good, except that the steering wheel is still about 60 deg left of center. I'll probably get that adjusted at the upper steering shaft joint, but holding off on...
Nice. The look of the tall/skinnier tires is growing on me. Have you run a 285 width before, and if so, how does the 255 compare? Seems likely that there should be a bit of mpg increase from the narrower contact patch and lighter tire weight...
Based on your reply, I'm in. 5-spoke is my preference but if the trend is toward 6 (more likely to fulfill) I'd go that way. Let me know how to place a deposit. Wanting 5 wheels in bronze.
I love the bronze 5-star. I think I'd be in for a set of 5. Will there be a time limit on getting the required pre-order commitment? While I'm down to commit now, if it doesn't happen for the next 6-12 months I will probably look for another option (like the gunmetal).
I have not, but now I'm interested. My 2001 is emissions-exempt starting next year, so while cats seem like "a good idea" in general, for me if they just met emissions requirements this year I'd be set. I wonder if there will be any noticeable benefit with going to a larger exhaust, especially...
