Thanks for the reply. Any recommendations for good place to purchase aisan clutch master and slave? My 40 is not an off-road truck, sorry if I offend anyone, but I want dependability. Any recommendations for rebuilding with Toyota kits or just replacing with new all together?

What was your experience with CCOT clutch master and slave replacement kit?

Helping a friend with a 1981 Fj43 and linkage for Asian carb has a lot of play. You mentioned a cable conversion? Are these conversions still an option or is new linkage available?

Hey EMAC I've been trying to read all the threads on my blinker issue and not having any luck. The right rear blinker won't work. Left side works fine, both blinker and hazard. Right front comes on and blinks once and stays on. All other lights on right side work.(driving, reverse and brake)...

It seems that my clutch plate did finally release from the flywheel with use. I don’t recall the last time I had an issue getting it to go into first or reverse because of grinding.

I've been trying no not to get into this discussion due to all the threads on here that talk about this, but I think I need to jump in. The attached picture is my clutch plate with the side showing I put facing the flywheel. I realize the immediate response is going to be I put it in backwards...

It is strange. With it running and I push in the clutch, it seems like the clutch plate is still spinning because it grinds when I try and put it into gear. I can get it to go into gear, but it grinds first and it seems the grinding slows down the spinning of the clutch plate enough to get into...

Pilot bearing went in and actually was spinning freely after installation. The transmission went in smooth as well, once I got it lined up correctly.

I finally got it to go into gear and I think after running it in gear the clutch plate released enough from flywheel. However, when it's running and I have someone inside to push in clutch, the clutch plate never stops spinning? Shouldn't it stop spinning when clutch is depressed?

Would it be possible/probable that this would happen to a clutch that has just been rebuilt? I have a 74 FJ40 and Im having the exact same symptoms as above after putting everything back together. I had flywheel resurfaced, new pilot and throw out bearings, new clutch disc and clutch pressure...

Sorry to drudge up this old thread, but I'm about at my wits end! What you described in the attached message is exactly the same thing that is happening to my 74 FJ40. I assumed it was the pilot bearing, so dropped transmission and did a complete clutch rebuild. Put everything back together and...

Sorry to ask again, but in attached picture the bearing is sticking out about an 1/8”. Is the bearing in this picture fully seated? This is about how much my bearing is sticking out and I feel like it is fully seated.

Need a little clarification. As in your picture, does the pilot bearing remain sticking out some even after fully seated?

I'm sorry to have to bring this back up, but I'm confused which side of bearing is the flat surface? Pic #1 or #2?
